FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The FSU Foundation, Inc. recently voted to adopt a plan that is set to invest more than $3.4 million over five years to renovate campus housing on Murchison Road. This move will support the University’s commitment to enhancing the corridor along Murchison Road and enhance community reinvestment.

“As an affiliate of the University, the FSU Foundation is here to support Fayetteville State University. We are pleased to work collaboratively with university leaders to show how the Foundation is partnering to provide improvements to the University Place Apartments. This is just the beginning,” said Ben Brown, chair of the FSU Foundation, Inc.

University Place Apartments, across Murchison Road from FSU’s campus, provides housing to FSU students. It will receive targeted upgrades, which includes internal and external renovations.

“I am extremely pleased with our foundation’s decision to reinvest funds into our largest student housing facility, including renovations that impact FSU students and the transformation of Murchison Road,” said FSU Chancellor Darrell T. Allison.

This announcement comes after FSU opened its Chick-Fil-A location in Bronco Midtown earlier in the semester. “We are proud of what is happening at Bronco Midtown, and this continues our efforts in partnering with the City of Fayetteville and greater Cumberland community to uplift the image of Murchison Road along with our local officials,” added Chancellor Allison.

FSU continues to partner with the City of Fayetteville to revitalize and reinvest into the area as a part of the Murchison Choice Neighborhood Initiative.
