Date: November 14, 2024

Fayetteville State University’s Office of Risk and Compliance celebrated its second annual Compliance and Ethics Week to emphasize the importance of knowing and following university policies and procedures Nov. 4-8. The week, themed “Higher Education, Higher Standards: Broncos Embrace Compliance,” spotlighted FSU’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in all its endeavors.

Compliance is not merely about following the rules but about doing what is right, even when no one is watching,” said Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff Samantha Holmes in video to campus.

Throughout the week, the Office of Risk and Compliance collaborated with campus to share humorous memes and noteworthy facts about compliance with the FSU community. FSU students and employees also participated in activities promoting knowledge and understanding of existing polices like data privacy, protection of minors on campus, campus housing and Title IX. The celebration concluded with Coffee and Cocoa with Compliance, which about 120 students, faculty and staff met with campus compliance leaders while enjoying warm beverages and sweet treats.

Established by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Corporate Compliance & Ethics Week began in 2005. For the second consecutive year and with the support of the Division of Legal, Audit, Risk and Compliance and the Department of Contracts and Grants, FSU delivered a week of growth, education and collaboration highlighting compliance and ethics on campus.
