FSU has a long history of small class sizes, renowned professors, exceptional academic resources, and career development opportunities at an affordable price to get students to graduation and beyond. That’s the Bronco Way.

As an NC Promise School, FSU understands that an affordable education is critical to students’ success. North Carolina faces a growing need for talent. Academic readiness, college and career access, postsecondary education completion, and workforce alignment are crucial elements in meeting the state’s goal of having two million people with a certificate or degree by 2030 (myFutureNC). FSU encourages the thousands of deserving high-school and transfer students from eastern North Carolina to take advantage of the millions of dollars available in financial assistance. The Bronco Opportunity Scholarship is one such resource; our mission is to go above and beyond to create a positive impact for future Broncos.

FSU realizes that every student’s path to a four-year degree is different. Malcolm X once said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

“We don’t want our students to feel like they can’t continue moving forward and achieving in their educational journey because of financial constraints,” said Teresa Thompson-Pinckney, Ed.D., associate vice chancellor for student success and enrollment management. “We believe cost should never stand in the way of pursuing your education. Over 90% of FSU’s entering class in 2022 received some financial aid. Our goal with this scholarship is to provide our newest Broncos with the tools and resources they need to succeed and create a clear path to ensure their educational investment leads to career advancement and continued achievement. The Bronco Scholarship is more than four-year renewable funding; it also includes a laptop to help meet digital needs and a career coach to assist with career planning, internships and job placement after graduation.”

FSU is committed to empowering students to defy the odds and break down barriers with the Bronco family by their side to support them in accomplishing important milestones. At FSU, the possibilities are unlimited.

Students are strongly encouraged to apply early; there are only a few days left to take advantage of this opportunity! Students must submit a completed online scholarship application and essay.
