Cyber Security (Certificate-CDHS)

The Certificate in Cyber Security Course is designed to build upon the coursework learned in the Certificate in Cyber Foundations Course
This course provides candidates with the skills, knowledge, and credentials required to successfully begin a career in the fields of Information Technology and Cyber Security. The courses consist of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory time to give our students an advantage over other programs in the area.
To earn the Certificate in Cyber Security, students will complete coursework designed to certify them in:
COURSE CURRICULUM (Requires A+, Network+, Security+ or Equivalent Certifications)
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
- CompTIA Linux+
- EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker
- Network & Packet Analysis
Students may take the CCNA and CEH certification exams at FSU's on-site Pearson Vue Testing Center. CEH is a DoD 8570 certification (required for many government cyber positions) and CCNA is among the most highly regarded industry technical certifications.
This program is suitable for individuals seeking to enter the fields of Information Technology and Cyber Security, or those already in the field who desire rigorous education and training. This Certificate Program is offered in response to industry's need for qualified employees with the right certifications and problem solving skills to be effective in system support, Computer Network Operations (CNO) and Computer Network Defense (CND). While Cyber is the primary focus, this program provides excellent preparation for work in any commercial or civilian IT organization.
In order to take the Certificate in Cyber Security Course, candidates should have completed our Certificate in Cyber Foundations Course or already possess the certifications offered in Cyber Foundations.
