BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Bogdan Denny Czejdo is a Belk Distinguished Professor of Science and Technology in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, College of Arts and Sciences, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina, USA.

Dr. Czejdo received a Ph.D. degree from Warsaw Technical University, Poland, in the Computer Science area. His research areas are databases and visual languages, knowledge based systems, robotics, computer vision and more recently cyber-security and geo-spatial intelligence. Throughout his academic career he was also heavily involved in the computer science education research. He has more than 150 publications in these areas. His successes are related very much to research cooperation with many universities nationally and locally and with the Oak Ridge National Laboratories (ORNL).

Early in  his academic career he worked on visualization of  database languages and created a visual language for the ER model. Then he extended the techniques and used them for the software development process resulting in a system for automatic software generation.  He has also worked extensively on data integration using both structured and semi-structured data represented by XML files. He applied his integration techniques  to various databases including the heterogeneous medical army databases. As a result he was able to performed an improved  statistical analysis on the integrated data. One of the specific achievements was in depth analysis of the non-battle military injury rates.
