TRIO Upward Bound

TRIO Upward Bound has a strong track record of motivating low-income and first-generation students to go to college. The program features academic and cultural services at no cost to the student or family. Our TRIO Upward Bound scholars attend plays/musical productions, visit historical and cultural sites, and explore colleges across the southeast United States. In addition to this, you will have opportunities that support you with not only school success but exposure to college opportunities throughout the nation. As an Upward Bound Scholar, you will have the opportunity to come to the campus of Fayetteville State University on a bi-weekly basis to attend our Saturday Academy. Our special Saturday Academy supports and enhances your math, science, and English skill sets. Our Scholars also participate in a summer program where you have the opportunity to experience college living for six (6) weeks.

TRIO Upward Bound

TRIO Upward Bound is committed to creating "opportunity" for our students. We want to expose students to greater and more unique experiences, both academically and culturally, to expand their worldview. College tours, professional speakers, tech and social events, and life groups are a few avenues that we utilize to grow our students beyond traditional pathways. Our students had the unique college tour experience in Nashville, Tennessee where they experienced some of the greatest HBCU's and colleges in Tennessee while immersing themselves in the hometown-Nashville culture and the historical roots of African American community there!

Why Join TRIO Upward Bound?

We provide the support that will enhance academic skills to help high school students with achieving the goal of going to college by helping them prepare for, apply to, pay for and enroll in college. Two of the greatest benefits of Upward Bound is our rigorous academic environment in addition to the opportunity for cultural enrichment. TRIO Upward Bound has a strong track record of motivating low-income and first-generation students with realizing the dream of going to college.
