Microsoft Copilot

Copilot is the AI tool embedded in Microsoft products. All FSU students, faculty, staff, and administrators have free access to this tool via Office365. Using Copilot in your FSU Office account allows you to save chats and protect your privacy while taking advantage of Copilot’s powerful AI features, built on ChatGPT. Microsoft provides a number of support pages and videos. The following are just a few:

Chesnutt Library

The Chesnutt Library has a growing number of AI resources for the FSU community:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Libguide: Chesnutt Library staff have compiled a number of resources here, including books and journals in the Chesnutt Library collections, information about citing AI tools, ethical AI use, and much more.
  • Keenious (coming soon): Keenious is a resource recommender tool designed to aid in the identification and discovery of scholarly research. It analyzes writing from text documents and PDFs to recommend the most relevant articles and topics to explore using artificial intelligence combined with conventional search algorithms. It will be available at FSU by the end of Spring 2025.

Intelligent Systems Laboratory

The Intelligent Systems Laboratory is a research lab of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science that collaborates with other departments, universities, national labs, government agencies and industry. The ISL supports the growing demand for research in applied and use-inspired Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Cybersecurity, and multi-disciplinary collaboration in AI.

For Students

  • Student Guide to AI: Basic guidelines for the effective and ethical use of AI in higher education.
  • Microsoft Copilot for Students: Microsoft Copilot is built on ChatGPT. Using Copilot while logged into your FSU user account gives you all the power of ChatGPT plus the privacy and data protection of the FSU network environment. In addition, Copilot can provide sources with links for its responses, enabling you to verify the information Copilot provides.

For Faculty

  • Office of Faculty Development and Online Education: AI in Academia Learning Path. A set of three micro courses that offer a blend of theoretical understanding and practical skills, empowering faculty to leverage AI effectively in educational settings.To access these micro-courses,
    • Go to the Office of Faculty Development website.
    • Click on the Facultea Connection Sharepoint site.
    • Click on the Professional Advancement and Training Hub.
    • Self-enroll in the AI in Academia Learning Path, or take each of the micro-courses separately:
      • AI in Academia: Drafting Policies: This micro-course will cover important elements of drafting AI policies & addressing both the value and the implementation of these policies.
      • AI in Academia: Using Chatbots: This micro-course covers important concepts about AI to help you follow future developments and will explore strategies for effective and ethical use of AI chatbots. 
      • AI in Academia: Developing Activities: This interactive Micro course covers the process of drafting AI activities tailored specifically for your course.
