Materials Science Scholarship

Eligibility: The applicant should be registered in the Materials Science Minor program or in the track of Materials Science Concentration, or registered in a Materials Science course.

I. NSF PREM Scholarship: $400/month. Limit: 6. PREM research is listed on the PREM website ( https://www.uncfsu.edu/prem). The applicant must be able to commit at least 40 h/month to conduct research, and the priorities will be given to those who have no other commitments.

II. NSF EIR Scholarship: $400/month. Limit: 6 (working with Drs. B. Gautam, S. Han and Z. Luo). The applicant must be able to commit at least 40 h/month to conduct research, and the priorities will be given to those who have no other commitments.

III. Graduate Certificate Scholarship: Students will receive scholarship of $1,000/mon for summer research. Limit: 8 (working with Drs. B. Gautam, S. Han and Z. Luo). Students will travel to Tuskegee University for on-site collaborative research.

IV. Summer Research Scholarship. Summer reserach scholarship is provided based on the availability of the research fund. In the summer 2022 and 2023, students were provided with $1,000 - 2,000/month for at least 80 h.

2. If a student is absent to research for more than a month without any excuses or the performance does not reach the mentor's expectation, the financial support may be terminated.
