Materials Science & Manufacturing Program

The Materials Science and Manufacturing (MS&M) program is a new program containing both Materials Science (MATS) and Manufacturing (MNFG) components. The curriculum contains 120 credit hours, including 39 credit hours of University College Core Curriculum, and 81 credit hours of major courses in "General" and "Computation" two concentrations. This program educates and trains students in both Materials Science and Manufacturing fields, with balanced MATS and MNFG courses. The program is built on a solid background in Materials Science for Manufacturing Technologies.

North Carolina is a top ten largest manufacturing states in the US. This BS in MS&M is a unique program in the UNC system. It will produce motivated, skilled workforces in Materials Science and Manufacturing, providing enhanced educational opportunities to students at HBCUs and supporting the manufacturing industry in North Carolina (NC).
