Meet the Team

Leaders, faculty, and staff throughout our FSU community are committed to deepening military cultural competencies and awareness. Our Office of External Affairs and Military Relations is dedicated to supporting you and other military-affiliated students—with a staff of veterans and former military leaders. We anticipate what you’ll need because we've been there ourselves.

Military-affiliated leaders who advocate for your interests and understand your needs

Veronica Alexander is FSU’s Director for Military Affiliated Services. She leads the university’s outreach and works with military-affiliated students. Veronica also serves as the Military Advisor and advisor for the Student Veterans of America chapter on FSU’s campus.

Teresa Griffin serves as a University Program Specialist at FSU Fort Liberty location (previously Fort Liberty) assisting military connected members with admissions and registration.

She also works with active-duty students using Tuition Assistance (TA) which is financial aid through the military employed to pay for their tuition at the University

Q: What kind of supports are available to me as a military-affiliated student?

Our Student Veterans' Center at Bronco Square provides you with extensive onsite supports, including:

  • Academic advising and help with class registration
  • Mental health counseling
  • Financial advice
  • Counseling and processing for VA/Department of Defense benefits and financial aid
  • Enrollment support and access to VA certifying officials
  • VA Work Study opportunities
  • Study spaces
  • Social events
  • Mentoring through American Corporate Partners (for military, veterans, and active-duty spouses) 

Connect with our Student Veterans of America chapter on campus. Our SVA chapter welcomes active-duty members of the military, veterans, ROTC cadets, and military spouses or children—providing you with a network for building community with other Broncos.

Calling all adult learners: FSU offers additional support to military-affiliated students through the Office for Adult Learners, designed to provide assistance to undergraduates who are 25 and older. If this describes you, you'll fit right in here: 50% of FSU students are over the age of 24.

We're committed to helping you leverage your military benefits for your civilian education. You can trust us to get the job done: FSU has more GI Bill and Military Tuition Assistance students than any other HBCU.

Q: How does FSU maximize flexibility and affordability in my learning options?

Flexibility that fits your stage and station in life 

We offer extensive, flexible online learning options and an academic experience aligned with your needs as a military-affiliated student. Choose from:

  • Flexible course options that encompass online, evening, and concentrated (eight-week) classes
  • Undergraduate programs that feature 12 online degree completion programs
  • Graduate programs that include two online degree completion programs

Fort Liberty Campus

If you're an active-duty member stationed at Fort Liberty, you can also access programs through our Fort Liberty Campus, serving you right where you work and live.

3+2 dual degree programs

FSU and NC State offer 3+2 dual degree programs. Earn two B.S. degrees in five years: Pursue a B.S. in Chemistry, Computer Science, or Mathematics at FSU, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from NC State.

Affordability that ensures a degree is within your reach

In addition to low tuition rates, scholarships, and help maximizing your military benefits, FSU offers the following:
