Availability of Financial Aid Programs: Students have the right to know that financial aid programs are available at Fayetteville State University.
Cancellation of Federal Direct Stafford Loan: Students have the right to cancel their Federal Direct Stafford Loan within 14 days from the date of receiving notification. They must notify the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid in writing. However, they should note that cancelling the loan may leave them responsible for any balance owed to the university.
Application Process: Students have the right to know the application process required to be considered for financial aid.
Selection Criteria: Students have the right to know the criteria used to select recipients and calculate need for financial aid.
Refund and Repayment Policy: Students have the right to know Fayetteville State University's refund and repayment policy for financial aid.

Completing Forms: Students are responsible for completing all forms accurately and in a timely manner.
Submitting Information: Students must submit information requested by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid staff in a timely manner.
Keeping Information Updated: Students are responsible for keeping the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid informed of any changes in personal information such as address, name, marital status, financial situation, or student status.
Reporting Additional Assistance: Students must report any additional assistance received from non-institutional sources such as scholarships, loans, fellowships, and educational benefits to the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid.
Notifying of Enrollment Changes: Students must notify the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid of any changes in enrollment status.
Maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress: Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the institution.
Re-Applying Annually: Students are responsible for re-applying for financial aid each year.
